On the last weekend of July, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will host its annual Community Clothing Exchange, offering free clothing to individuals and families throughout the Northeast Mesa area. Now in its third year, the event continues to grow and bless the lives of community members seeking practical support during challenging economic times. The Clothing Exchange will take place at 10036 E. Brown Road, Mesa, AZ 85207.
Community members are invited to donate gently used clothing on Friday, July 24 from 5 to 7 p.m. Donations of clean and wearable clothing for all ages are appreciated.
On Saturday, July 25 from 9 a.m. to noon, the doors will reopen for the community to “shop” the exchange — completely free of charge. There is no cost, no registration, and no requirements to participate. All are welcome.
The event is designed to be welcoming and dignified. Clothing will be organized by size and type to create a boutique-style experience where individuals and families can browse and select items that meet their needs.
Last year’s event saw a tremendous turnout, with hundreds of items donated and distributed. Organizers hope to expand awareness this year so that even more families can benefit.
“Our goal is simple,” Communications Director Nancy Higgins said. “We want to strengthen our community by sharing what we have. If you have extra clothing, consider donating. If you need clothing, please come. Everyone is welcome.”
The Community Clothing Exchange reflects the church’s ongoing commitment to service, generosity, and caring for neighbors.
