What are Peptides and Why are they Important?

You have likely heard of the term “peptides.” But do you really know what they are and what they do in the human body?

Peptides are short chains of amino acids that serve as instructions for your body. They can manage hormone production, support metabolism, promote collagen production, enhance cellular growth and repair, regulate blood sugar and immune function, enhance physical and cognitive performance, aid digestion, and regulate sleep.

Peptides are found naturally in foods high in protein, such as meat, fish, eggs, and dairy. Plant-based sources include soy, legumes, nuts, and seeds. Bone broth and animal-derived gelatin are packed with collagen peptides. The human body also naturally produces them, depending upon factors such as age, diet, and health conditions.

Age and impaired digestion can impact the body’s ability to digest them, as well as the ability to produce them. Therefore, administering peptides via injection or transdermal application can significantly improve specific bodily functions.

Preclinical studies have shown that BPC-157 may be beneficial for wound healing, orthopedic injuries, inflammatory bowel disease, stroke, neurodegenerative diseases, and liver and kidney protection.

While oral peptide supplements may offer some benefit, impaired digestion may be counterproductive. Therefore, injections and transdermal applications are ideal, as they deliver the peptides into the bloodstream, where they can be utilized.

At Prime IV Hydration and Wellness, we offer dissolvable peptide strips you place on your inner cheek, which allows direct, rapid absorption of the peptides into the bloodstream.

We offer a complimentary Wellness Strategy Session for anyone interested in peptides or any of our other products or services.

Prime IV Hydration & Wellness – Red Mountain Gateway is located at 2025 N. Power Road in Suite 106. For more information, call (480) 992-4202 or visit primeiveastmesa.com.
