Welding Students Seek Donations

by Dan Hurst October 29, 2016
written by Dan Hurst October 29, 2016

red-mountain-welding-picRed Mountain and Skyline high school welding students are going to Las Vegas to compete in the Fabtech Welding Thunder contest, sponsored by the American Welding Society.

Teams from around the nation will be competing alongside the students from Red Mountain and Skyline high schools. Both Mesa teams have won Best in the West statewide invitational welding contests over the past four years, with the highest honors.

Currently, the Mesa students are seeking donations to their prospective ECA accounts to support the competition. Tax credits are available, but please seek the advice of an accountant.

“Please help us to make this a journey the students will never forget,” said Daniel Hurst, welding teacher at Red Mountain High School.

The contest will be held from Nov. 15 to the 19.

For more information, contact Daniel Hurst of Red Mountain Welding at (480) 472-8225, or Mike Drobitsky of Skyline High School at (480) 773-1506.
