Vote Yes to Prohibit Short-term Rentals in Las Sendas

by Las Sendas Home Owners Association January 14, 2022January 14, 2022
written by Las Sendas Home Owners Association January 14, 2022January 14, 2022

The Las Sendas HOA board has received numerous resident complaints regarding short term or vacation rentals in our neighborhoods. Since 2019, the number of confirmed short-term rentals has at least doubled.

More short-term rental investors are likely to come to Las Sendas because many nearby communities have restricted vacation rentals.

Now Las Sendas owners can vote to amend our community documents (CC&Rs) to prohibit short-term rentals.

“The website advertising the short-term rental near our home touts that it is located in the ‘very quiet and peaceful neighborhood’ of Las Sendas,” Lee Decker, an Eagle Feather resident, said. “However, for those of us living near the rental, the neighborhood is anything but quiet and peaceful.”

Lynn Bowdidge, a Granite Ridge resident, adds, “The difference between having known neighbors and hotel guests next door is that there is no community or respect of property from short-term rental guests.”

Pat and Rod Shafer, Granite Mountain residents, plead for you to vote Yes, “to preserve Las Sendas as a community dedicated to residents who support each other and our families.”

Don’t wait — we urge you to support your neighbors and vote Yes.
