Various factors determine car service costs

It actually is impossible to tell how much car service should cost.

Sure, there are online sources available, which offer guidelines. However, these are based simply on averages collected through databases or even sometimes just a personal opinion. Every repair shop, large or small, charges a different rate for just about everything. Car repair is no different than going out for a hamburger. The choices are endless, and everyone is looking for something different.

So, how do you choose where to service your vehicle? It has to be a personal decision. Sometimes, it is just trial and error. However, research is one of the keys to finding what is right for you. Make a list of what you think is most important, whether it is price, quality or amenities offered, or even convenience. The answers to these questions are unique to you.

Next, use the Internet to find shops in your area. Visit their websites, read reviews and then call those shops in which you are interested. The phone call will let you know a lot about the shop. You should focus on the conversation during the phone call. In addition, unless pricing is high on your list, avoid asking for quotes.

Just like getting a price on a hamburger, you may be expecting a signature burger and you receive a tiny burger because you made your choice on a quote. So, focus on what they have to offer. Another factor to consider is the reputation of the shop in the community. You do not want to be charged for a signature burger and only receive the tiny burger.

What a shop charges you is based on quality of work, type of parts used, benefit of their services, warranties provided and the overall cost of doing business. What this means is the value to you as a consumer is different from shop to shop. This is why it is such a personal choice. Not only do you want to receive the service you are paying for, but you also want to know you were treated fairly. Just keep in mind what kind of burger you desire.

H and I Automotive was created on the premise every customer deserves the best service at a great value. We understand value does not come with the lowest price, which is why we have partnered with vendors providing parts and service products, which will give the most benefit to our customers.
