The Learning Tree Academy empowers children with knowledge

by The Learning Tree Academy July 4, 2011
written by The Learning Tree Academy July 4, 2011

Learning Tree AcademyGrowing Strong Roots in Academics and Character is the goal of The Learning Tree Academy pre-school, and that is exactly what happens.

Just one look at the pictures of the academy confirms this is a special place.

The inviting décor, bright colors and stimulating pictures draw you in, creating interest and confirming the fact this environment is conducive to learning, socializing and growing strong in character.

The Learning Tree Academy’s philosophy is simple but profound—empower children with knowledge. Let them know they are loved and you believe in them. Reveal to them there is no goal too challenging, no dream too big, and with hard work and perseverance, there is no task too challenging. This approach builds confidence, and students gain innate knowledge they are on their way to achieving greatness.

The emphasis on the importance of good character is another key. Students affirm themselves daily, and are enthusiastic about the positive affirmations they recite.

Music is a tool used for teaching. Students dance, sing and learn by multisensory teaching strategies. Children learn 10 percent of what they hear, 30 percent of what they hear and see, 40 percent of what they hear, see and say and 70 to 100 percent of what they hear, see, say and do. Students use a microphone to share inventive stories, sing or share a favorite poem.

There is a high standard for learning, and students rise to the occasion. The focus is on tapping into the individuality and uniqueness of each child. That is the advantage of having two teachers. The ratio is compatible for each teacher to do one-on-one teaching and help each student become more excited about learning. Students acquire a greater desire to strive for excellence and reach individual potential.

Art is another enrichment program the academy promotes. Every child is an artist. Each child’s confidence builds through self-expression and creativity. When children are introduced to the arts at an early age, their lives are richer. They have a greater appreciation of nature, and for the diversity of people and their cultures. They also find beauty in the panorama of the world in which they live.

Each student is tested throughout the year. At the end of the school year, many exceed the standards required to enter kindergarten. We are so proud of our students and all of their hard work!

On May 25, The Learning Tree Academy held its inaugural graduation ceremony, and we look forward to many more in the years ahead. The academy is grateful and thankful for the success shared this school year, and we anticipate a promising future.
