Take some personal time with a Cosmos massage

14455036_xxlWith the kids back in school and summer winding down (we hope), there is no better time to pamper yourself.

To facilitate an aura of relaxation, Cosmos Salon and MedSpa is offering a $49.95 new client massage special as a way to introduce new guests to the salon’s services and to meet their new massage therapists.

“The special is a 60-minute custom massage session tailored to whatever you need from our extensive menu of massage modalities,” said Salon Manager Heather Baran.

Cosmos offers a wide variety of massage techniques, including relaxation/Swedish, stress relief, sports/therapeutic, deep tissue, trigger point, cranial sacral and prenatal. “Our therapists take a few minutes before you begin to consult on your personal areas of concern,” Heather said. “After your 50-minute hands-on session, they spend the last few minutes with recommendations.”

Essential oil aromatherapy is included in your massage, and you can add one of our special enhanced therapies, such as BioFreeze topical pain relief, exfoliating foot scrub and hot stone, as well as hot towel cold stone. Pricing ranges from an additional $4.95 to $12.95 for new clients.

Licensed Massage Therapist Christina (Christie) Bick graduated from the Arizona School of Massage Therapy. “I specialize in Swedish, deep tissue, trigger point therapy and prenatal massage,” Christie said. “I am very passionate about the art of massage because I have personally experienced and have seen how beneficial massage is on the human body, mentally and physically. I do not see massage as a job, and look forward to work every day, knowing I will be able to help people.”

Another massage therapist is Arizona native, Eduardo Baca, Jr., originally from Tucson. “I worked in the dental field for 18 years, but my true passion was massage,” Eduardo admitted. “My bachelor’s degree is in science and health administration, and I graduated from Arizona School of Massage Therapy. After being a therapist for almost two years now, I am loving every minute of it,” he said with a smile.

“I chose to become a massage therapist because I enjoy helping people get back to optimal health,” Eduardo continued. “I learned many different modalities, such as Swedish, sports, deep tissue and cranial. My goal is to make a positive impact on a person’s life and wellness. I make it a point to listen and focus on the goals of the client. My style is very intuitive and integrative of different modalities.”

Heather encourages everyone to visit Cosmos Salon and MedSpa to feel more energized and benefit from the healing properties of massage. “To enhance your experience, book an appointment for a facial or wax with our featured esthetician, Maria Keller, before or after your massage,” she suggested.

“Maria has been with Cosmos for more than 20 years, and has taken consistent continuing education courses to perfect her craft,” Heather continued. “She provides excellent and professional customer service, and adds her personal touch to everything she does.”
