The other day I ran across an excellent free resource for homeowners planning on developing their backyard into a beautiful functioning oasis. This resource was located in the local Red Mountain Library in the form of a booklet called, Landscaping with Style in the Arizona Desert, published by the AZ Water Conservation Association. This booklet asks you to make a wish list and ask yourself these questions:
- What do I want my yard to look like?
- What purpose do I want my yard to serve?
- Do I want color and shade?
- Do I want to create a wildlife environment in my yard?
- Do I want a recreation area?
- Do I want a place to relax?
- Where would be a good space for a pool, spa, firepit, garden, or barbeque?
- Will my ideas fit my budget?
