September Means a Floating Beach Blast on the Salt River

Enjoy a floating beach blast adventure and chill out with Salt River Tubing every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in September, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Why did thousands of tubers flock to the Lower Salt River to beat the heat and enjoy fun in the sun each week during the summer? Simply, the cool and refreshing mountain-stream waters are an inviting refuge from the scorching Valley temperatures, and it’s an inexpensive getaway close to the Phoenix metropolitan area, in beautiful Tonto National Forest.

“September is the perfect month to float on the Lower Salt River,” President and Chief Executive Officer of Salt River Tubing Henri Breault said. “Catch a glimpse of the wild horses crossing mid-stream, blue herons gliding across the water and the majestic mountains of the mini Grand Canyon of Tonto National Forest as you float by. The Salt River offers chills and thrills while tubing and creates memorable, enjoyable experiences in the great outdoors,” he continued.

Floating Tips

  • Children must be at least 8 years old and 4 feet tall for tubing and shuttle bus service.
  • Non-swimmers, inexperienced swimmers and children should wear a life vest while tubing.
  • Tubers should plan their floating picnics to include plenty of water, sun block, protective footwear and beverages in cans or plastic containers.
  • Glass containers are not permitted in the Lower Salt River Recreational Area. Ice chests and coolers will be inspected before boarding shuttle buses.
  • One valid driver’s license is required for credit card identification and as a tube rental security deposit for every five tubes rented.
  • Appoint a designated driver before your tubing adventure. Drugs, alcohol and the Salt River do not mix. Just don’t do it.

Enjoy a fun-filled floating adventure for just $17 for all day tubing, shuttle bus service and free parking.

Salt River Tubing accepts cash and credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover).

Operating under permit of the United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service, Salt River Tubing is located in Tonto National Forest.
