Santa’s Helpers Stocking Project Brings Christmas to Children in Foster Care

by UpClose Publications December 1, 2018
written by UpClose Publications December 1, 2018

Currently, there are almost 18,000 children in foster care in Arizona and another 160,000 children living in kinship throughout the state.

KOR Properties, in partnership with local charity Helen’s Hope Chest, is stuffing Christmas stockings to make the season a little brighter for foster children this holiday season. Last year, our KOR Properties Family helped us donate more than 200 stockings. We hope you will join us again this year to help make this Christmas season a little brighter for all the kids in our community.

How to be a Santa’s Helper

It’s easy. Get a stocking and stuff it full.

Stocking items should be new and unwrapped. Target and Michael’s have great stocking stuffers in their dollar sections. They sell out quickly, so stock up early. The dollar stores have stockings, stuffed animals and fun little toys, too.

Recommended items

  • Cuddly stuffed animal—one per stocking, please.
  • Full-size candy bar—nut free is best.
  • Bouncy balls (3 inches or larger) or small football.
  • Card games, such as Uno, Spot It, Old Maid.
  • Fun pens and markers.
  • Small coloring books, joke books or puzzle books.
  • Small notebooks or stickers.
  • Silly Putty, Matchbox cars or Lego minifigures.
  • Fun toothbrush.
  • Flashlight or clip-on book light—include batteries, please.
  • Fuzzy socks or mittens.

Stocking Drop-Off Dates

  • Monday, Dec. 3, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Dec. 4, from 9 a.m. to noon.

Stocking Drop-Off Location

Kor Properties Office
4320 E. Brown Road, Suite 106

You also can send an email to NataschaK@KORproperties.com to submit a personalized pick-up request.
