Red Mountain Driving Range and Open Space in Peril

by Nancy Nemitz December 31, 2016
written by Nancy Nemitz December 31, 2016

driving-range-photo-copyDesigned as a master plan community, with the Pete Dye golf course as its centerpiece, the driving range at Red Mountain Ranch gives residents and visitors a beautiful view of the mountains, but there is a major change in the works.

Divot Partners, owners of the golf course, want to remove the driving range and develop this section into custom homes.

This welcome open space, located off Redmont Drive, affects more than golfers or people who paid a premium for the view. It affects hundreds of people who pass by this area every day.

Every morning, you will find neighbors talking to neighbors as they walk their dogs, school children waiting for the bus and cycling club members riding by the driving range on their way to Power Road.

There is a well-organized effort by citizens of Mesa and homeowners in Red Mountain Ranch to stop this development. We would love to have you join us. It’s easy. Go to redmountaincommunity.com to sign the online petition. Visit the site for all the official documents and the latest news.

Please join our grassroots effort to keep this open space for the citizens of Mesa.
