Milano’s Reopens Dining Room While Prioritizing Health

by Jamie Killin July 1, 2020
written by Jamie Killin July 1, 2020

Milano’s is welcoming its customers back into the dining room, while prioritizing the safety of its employees and guests by following all CDC guidelines to help end the spread of COVID-19.

When diners arrive, the Milano’s team aims to help them feel at ease, with all staff members wearing gloves and masks during the entirety of their dining experience.

“I feel obligated first to my employees and then to my customers to do the right thing, and to make sure everybody comes into work healthy and leaves healthy,” said owner Mike Bipar. “We can’t let them get sick while they’re working and make somebody else sick. We want to make sure our customers feel comfortable.”

For Mike, it’s about wanting to be safe instead of sorry by ensuring the safety of everyone who visits Milano’s.

This commitment to caring for staff and customers has paid off, with Milano’s not losing a single employee due to the pandemic. In fact, the restaurant has been able to hire on two new employees and hopes to continue growing its team this year.

And while some things around the restaurant have changed to ensure sanitation and safety, diners can rest assured knowing they can still come to enjoy the Italian specialties they’ve grown to love.

“We’ve had this concept for about 18 years, and every day we still try to make the food better,” said Mike. “The presentation has become better, and we’re still adding new things.”

Many of these new items, including better-for-you options introduced to the menu earlier this year, have already become guest favorites.

“We added a lot of things on the healthier side to the menu at the beginning of the year,” said Mike. “We have new salads, and since our rice bowls have been extremely popular over the last few years, we added some new rice bowls options as well.”

Now, guests can look forward to a cauliflower rice option in the bowls, as well as gluten-free and cauliflower pizza crust options.

Milano’s will also continue its popular takeout and delivery options, offering completely contact-free delivery to a limited area directly through the restaurant, and to even more patrons through GrubHub and DoorDash.

Milano’s is located at 4545 E. McKellips Road, Suite 103, in Mesa. For more information, call (480) 325-1600.
