It is important to keep personal legal documents current

When recently meeting with an estate attorney, it was discovered the legal documents I presented were not in order, and would cause significant problems if they were not corrected.

I understand it is easy to procrastinate when making decisions about powers of attorney and health care directives, as well as how you want your assets distributed. Please trust me, however, when I tell you having these documents in order makes it so much easier on those who have to manage after you die.

Make the decision right now to schedule an appointment with an estate attorney in the first few months of this year. I have so much peace of mind knowing everything is in order and my affairs are organized for my personal representative. It’s a wonderful gift to your heirs.
