Improve Fertility through Proper Nutrition

Over the past 100 years, there has been a dramatic shift in the type and quality of foods we consume.

Antibiotics, pesticides, insecticides and hormones commonly are found in our food. Industrialized farming practices, the proliferation of genetically modified organisms, or GMO foods, toxins in our environment and stress have contributed to a system that is failing to provide us with the nutrient-dense foods previously available to our ancestors.

Unfortunately, our fertility levels and our children are suffering the unintended consequences of our modern life.

Nutrition plays a critical role in optimizing our overall health and also is an important component to improved fertility. Optimizing the health of the mother and father months prior to conception increases fertility rates and improves the likelihood for creating a healthy new life.

Certified Nutritional Therapy Consultant and Chef Colleen Forgus guides couples and women who are planning a pregnancy by teaching the Feed Your Fertile Body program, which emphasizes the importance of a nutrient-dense whole foods diet.

Almost 100 years ago, Dr. Weston A. Price studied traditional cultures, identifying the important role nutrition played in optimizing conception, pregnancy and the delivery of a healthy baby. Today, sadly, much of that knowledge has been forgotten.

For couples and women considering an addition to their family, the time to make dietary changes is now. Both the mother and father should optimize their nutrition prior to conception.

Infertility and miscarriage are difficult experiences for anyone, often leaving people feeling understandably hopeless. Taking steps to improve one’s own fertility through diet is empowering and healing.

The six-week Feed Your Fertile Body course covers:

  • Week 1: Best Kept Secrets about Fats and Fertility
  • Week 2: Sugar, Not Such a Sweet Deal After All
  • Week 3: Basic Techniques of Proper Food Preparation
  • Week 4: Boost Fertility by Decreasing Inflammation
  • Week 5: Improving Protein Digestion and Mineral Absorption
  • Week 6: Gut Reactions:  How Our Microbiota Affects Us, Generation after Generation

Colleen will be offering group classes at The Arizona Relationship Institute, in East Mesa, in Scottsdale (location to be determined) and online. If desired, Colleen can work privately with local and distance couples.

Weight loss, digestion and blood sugar balancing, as well as mineral and vitamin imbalances, are some of the other issues Colleen addresses when working with individuals. She recognizes the fact we all are unique, and no one specific diet works for everyone.

Colleen has appeared on Sonoran Living; Arizona Midday, with Jan D’Atri; Your Life A to Z; Good Morning Arizona; and CZ the Day.

She offers free 15-minute consultations. Give Colleen a call to see how she can help you today.
