Goodwill of Central Arizona will open a new store in Mesa on Friday, Dec. 16, at 9 a.m.

The brand new 21,500-square-foot store will be located at 2665 N. Power Road. The first 150 people in line outside the store will receive a $5 gift card good toward their next purchase.

“We’re thrilled to be joining the Northeast Mesa community,” said Courtney Nelson, vice president of marketing and communications for Goodwill of Central Arizona. “Our research indicates a strong interest in Goodwill here, and we look forward to providing a convenient shopping and donating location. We hope many Northeast Mesa residents come out to the grand opening. There is always a plethora of treasures to be found at Goodwill.”

Donations and purchases at Goodwill help support their mission services. Goodwill provides no-cost resources to anyone in need of finding a job via their career centers, including job preparation services and access to hundreds of local hiring companies.

“With each new store opening, we hire 30 to 40 individuals,” said Courtney. “We need donation attendants, sale associates and retail merchandise processors. Hiring is underway now, and we encourage anyone interested to apply online at our website, goodwillaz.org.”

About Goodwill

Founded in 1947, Goodwill of Central Arizona is one of the oldest nonprofit agencies in Arizona. With more than 70 locations, donating and shopping at Goodwill means you are fighting unemployment and promoting a sustainable environment. Last year, Goodwill helped place nearly 43,000 Arizonans in local jobs with more than 600 employers.

Each year, Goodwill diverts millions of pounds of material from going directly into Arizona landfills. It all adds up to one huge benefit—the betterment of our community. To learn more about our mission and services, visit goodwillaz.org.
