Don’t Store It. Use It.

written by Nancy Nemitz January 26, 2011

Nancy NemitzUse what you have instead of packing your beautiful things away where no one can appreciate or enjoy them.

You won’t have to buy containers to store things and you’ll save shelf space if you stop storing and start using. Why do you put things away instead of use it? I don’t understand it. I don’t think you bought it intending to have it gather dust or sit in a box in the garage.

Are you afraid the children will damage it? Discipline your children. Teach them to respect your things.

Maybe you have a beautiful soup tureen but you don’t eat soup. Use the tureen instead to display guest towels. Think of a new way to use your things. People are always telling me how much they love something they forgot they had until we got it down from the cobwebs.

Come on now. Get something out of storage or down from the high shelves and use it, then e-mail me and let me know.

Nancy Nemitz, a professional organizer, was recently featured on Fox10 Arizona Morning. View the episode by going to the Media page of her Web site www.createthespace.com. Her episode of Hoarding:Buried Alive should be near air time by the time this article is published.
