Celebrate Fall with a Seasonal Pie

by PIEfection September 29, 2016September 29, 2016
written by PIEfection September 29, 2016September 29, 2016

2012-12_piefectionTemperatures under the triple digits mean fall has arrived here in Mesa, and at Piefection, it means fall pie season is here.

“It’s definitely our busiest time of the year,” Piefection owner Cheryl Standage stated.

Just walking into the bakery, located at the southwest corner of Power and Brown roads, you can tell Piefection’s busy season has arrived. The hustle and bustle of pie baking starts early in the morning, and the smell of pumpkin and spices wafts through the air all day long.

When asked about favorite fall pies, Cheryl replied, “Anything pumpkin related is always popular. That’s why we make so many different varieties.” Those include Harvest Pumpkin, Pumpkin Cheesecake and Pumpkin Chocolate Chip. There also is Pumpkin Sour Cream, which gets dressed up with spooky spiders for Halloween.

The fall pies at Piefection don’t stop with pumpkin. “We have many varieties that are fall favorites, and our Fall Kickoff is the perfect time to try them all,” Cheryl said.

Piefection’s Fall Kickoff will take place on Oct. 22, during normal business hours, when all fall varieties are available for free sampling.

“We give out thousands of free samples at the Fall Kickoff every year,” Cheryl said. “It’s become one of our favorite events. It’s the perfect time to try everything before you place your Thanksgiving orders,” she continued. “And placing orders for Thanksgiving is something you’ll want to do early. We fill thousands of orders every Thanksgiving, and it gets busier every year.”

According to Cheryl, the Fall Kickoff always is busy and exciting. “But the best part of it is seeing our customers having fun with their friends and family, and falling in love with new pies,” she said. “Fall is a great time to be a pie baker.”

It’s a great time to be a customer at Piefection, too.

Stop by Piefection Monday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and don’t miss the Fall Kickoff on Oct. 22.
