In September 2009, the OB Sports Golf Academy opened at Longbow Golf Club in Mesa with the mission of establishing a program designed to develop junior golfers into college prospects and help the recreational golfer enjoy the game more.
Just 15 short months later, mission accomplished!
The roster of students at the OB Sports Golf Academy includes junior golfers who have won American Junior Golf Association titles, Arizona State junior championships, Southwest Section Professional Golf Association (PGA) Player of the Year awards, high school Player of the Year awards, and countless other tournaments.
In addition, students in the class of 2010 received scholarships to University of Arizona, Purdue University, University of Washington, Yale University and University of Kansas, and already a 2011 signee to University of Nevada at Las Vegas.
Players from the Ladies Professional Golf Association, Nationwide and Futures Tour also call the OB Sports Golf Academy home, as well as players currently working their way through PGA Tour qualifying school. And right alongside them on the lesson tee are 10, 15, 20 and 30 handicappers learning the same lessons!
