Spring has sprung, and our social club is in full bloom. This season has been filled with engaging speakers, lively events, and a strong sense of community. Our membership continues to grow as more neighbors discover what a special place this is to make new friends and feel connected.
A LITTLE FRIENDLY COMPETITION: CHILI COOK-OFF
Social Club members volunteered as greeters at the Red Mountain Ranch Chili Cook-Off, welcoming more than 275 attendees to the event. Twenty-eight cooks brought their best chili recipes to share, creating a wide range of flavors for guests to enjoy.
Attendees sampled the chilis and cast their votes for the spiciest entry, the most original recipe, and the best overall flavor. A Grand Champion was also selected by a special panel of judges. Contestants competed in two divisions: home-cooked and restaurant fare, making for a fun and flavorful afternoon enjoyed by all.
A FESTIVE EVENING: ST. PATRICK’S DAY CELEBRATION
Social Club members took over the patio at RMRCC for a lively St. Patrick’s Day celebration. With warm spring weather and plenty of Arizona sunshine, the patio was the perfect setting to gather with friends and neighbors. Guests enjoyed live music, traditional Irish fare, and plenty of conviviality. As the evening unfolded and a beautiful desert sunset lit the sky, the patio buzzed with laughter, good food, and great company.

MEN’S BREAKFAST: SOLVING THE WORLD’S PROBLEMS, ONE CUP OF COFFEE AT A TIME
Our gentlemen gather on the last Wednesday of each month for breakfast at Sunnyside Breakfast Lounge. It’s a relaxing time to connect, share stories, and start the day with good company. Some say the world’s problems get solved here… or at least discussed over a cup of Joe.
LEARN SOMETHING NEW: OUR SPEAKER SERIES
At our General Meetings, held at Red Mountain Ranch Country Club on the second Thursday of each month, members enjoy informative and entertaining presentations from a variety of guest speakers. This season we learned about the Make-A-Wish program, heard valuable insights from local realtors, and honored our veterans. A longtime television professional shared behind-the-scenes stories from her 30-year career, and a Las Sendas neighbor and ASU professor spoke about our Founding Fathers.
In March we heard from a local landscape architect, and we look forward to a visit from Councilwoman Alicia GoForth on April 9. Our season concludes May 14 with a presentation on water sustainability and conservation efforts.
