Tucked between the desert cliffs and cottonwood trees, the Lower Salt River is one of Arizona’s most beautiful outdoor treasures. But for years, this peaceful waterway has also struggled with an ugly problem — trash. Aluminum cans, plastic bottles, and broken coolers have collected along the banks and beneath the surface, threatening wildlife and turning paradise into a dumping ground.
At Redline Rentals and Sales, we’ve seen it firsthand. That’s why we’ve launched an ongoing initiative to support the Salt River’s transformation — not just as a paddleboard and kayak rental shop, but as an active partner in environmental restoration.
Through this initiative, Redline donates free kayak and paddleboard rentals to anyone who attends a recognized Salt River cleanup. Whether you’re diving with the Salty Scuba Squad, hauling bags with Natural Restorations, or lending a hand with the SWATT Team (Salt Water and Trash Team), we want to support your efforts. Volunteers can pick up gear at no charge — just bring your gloves, good vibes, and a heart for nature.
Redline also joins these cleanups in person. “We don’t just talk about it — we’re out there in the mud too,”says the Redline team. “What used to be thousands of cans along the shoreline is slowly becoming the peaceful, pristine river it once was. We’re seeing real change.”
To keep the momentum going, Redline is encouraging the local Las Sendas and surrounding communities to get involved:
- Donate to non-profit groups like Salty Scuba Squad and Natural Restorations
- Join cleanup events hosted by the SWATT Team
- Get certified through the River Ranger program and learn how to be a year-round steward of the river
“This isn’t just about picking up trash — it’s about protecting something sacred,” Redline adds. “We want every guest, paddler, and neighbor to feel like they’re part of a movement.”
